~~BY REQUEST~~

We’ve joined the 21st century.

We have conducted Loss and Found seminars and support groups throughout the country.
But it is often expensive to facilitate, because of travel costs.

To solve this problem, we are offering a low-cost phone seminar, which is really a support group on the phone.

This 90-minute support group will discuss many of the issues that people face with the loss of a partner.

We’ll do the seminar in two sections. The two seminars may have similar issues, not necessarily identical, so you may prefer to participate in the one that fits you best. If you still prefer to participate in both seminars, you may. The two seminars are two weeks apart. In a typical support group, people attend more than one session. Even if there is a little repeating, it's usually useful.

DATES:
Section I: Primarily for the loss of a young partner (under 50) - Sunday, October 28.
Section II: Primarily for the loss of any partner, any age – Sunday, November 11.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS:
1. Is my anonymity preserved? What if I ask questions, can I still remain anonymous?
Yes. Anonymity is preserved. This is very important. When you reserve a space, no one involved other than Kathy and Gary in the conference sees your name or anything else. When you call in, it’s completely anonymous. If you ask a question or join the discussion in any way, you have the option to include your name or a false name, or no name, and no one can challenge this. When you register, you will be asked if you prefer to be called by your first name (no last names will be used), or if you prefer a pseudonym, which you will tell us at the time of registration.

2. What about the one-on-one support. What does that include?
This is a one-time phone discussion with Gary, Kathy, or sometimes both of us, usually lasting between ten and fifteen minutes, but we set aside thirty minutes for this call, on an “as needed” basis. The call itself happens at a mutually convenient time, but must be within ninety days of the seminar. For instance, if the seminar is on October 28, 2007, the one-on-one consultation must be completed by January 28, 2008. Remember, we are grief support leaders with lots of experience, but we are not therapists, and cannot suggest medications, or diagnose other issues.

3. What is the value of the entire package?
Loss and Found retails for $19.95, including postage and handling. The workbook retails at $15.00, including postage and handling. Seminars of this nature can go for as much as $300 in some cases, but my experience is that many go for $150. One-on-one conferences normally costs $125 per hour.

4. How can you charge so little, and where does the money go?
This is not our main source of income, so we can be sensitive to your financial state. This package price may not be repeatable. Future seminars may have to be more expensive, but we always succeed in keeping the price down. After reimbursing our out-of-pocket expenses, the money goes to the Lifetime Achievement Foundation programs.

5. What if I miss the seminar? Will you be doing another seminar soon? Or can I purchase a recording of this seminar?
We plan to offer seminars of this nature 2 – 4 times a year, depending on the demand and our schedules. We cannot project the cost of the upcoming seminars, but we will always try hard to keep the cost way down. We will offer a CD of our seminar for $30, which will include all of the premiums offered with the seminar package.

6. What if I feel that a monthly or semi-monthly phone conference would be useful for me?
There are two ways to handle this. Either we can do one-on-one support, for an hourly fee, which will be much lower than our usual fee, or if there are enough people interested, we can do a group session periodically, at about the same rate as the first group session, or if possible, a somewhat lower rate.

7. Will you have a subject that you’ll cover in this seminar, or is this a general support group?
This support group is guided by the needs of the group. We do plan to touch upon two areas. Holidays and Dealing with the “Ghost” when Dating, due to request (many may not be ready or interested in dating, so we do not plan to spend a lot of time on this subject). But these seminars are really support groups, which means that the participants not only suggest the areas that they want to talk about, but they are also free to discuss anything throughout the seminar. The phones will be open. Gary will facilitate and make sure that we are not all talking at the same time, and both Gary and Kathy will chime in when appropriate.

8. When will I receive my book and the workbook?
When we receive your payment, we will immediately send the book via media mail. It can be a little slow, but it also keeps the cost down. You have the option of adding $2.50 for priority mail, which is faster. The workbook will also be immediately available online as a .pdf document. If you cannot receive .pdf documents, we can mail you a copy of the workbook for an additional $4.00 to cover printing and media mail delivery.
